Baptism
To some it's just getting wet, to others a boring, irrelevant religious act, but to me it is something that brings new life. Baptism. Even the word sounds impressive. We had a great weekend where we gave people the opportunity to be baptized in all three of our services. We had 15 people take hold of that! The thing that was most important for me was to see what it meant to those who stepped up. There was a real sense of the presence of God and an anointing is present as people show their obedience to God's commands. It's interesting how a simple act of obedience opens up heaven. I recently had an opportunity to be generous and it was something that initially I fought against as it was a big ask and I argued with God. I knew it was what God wanted me to do so in the end it came down to whether I was going to be obedient or not. I followed through and did what God wanted, not only was I able to bless someone who needed to learn that we serve a big God but I have felt such peace and have seen God provide for our every need. Obedience is the key to our joy being complete. There is nothing better than knowing you are in the centre of where God wants you to be. So as you live in this fast-paced world make sure you are looking for God's direction and then, most important, take the plunge. Die to your old life and rise up into the new life we have in Christ!
